Pines Road/BNSF Grade Separation Project

September 2025 - winter 2026/27

• What: Grade separate railroad crossing with an underpass, construct roundabout and trailhead
• Location: N. Pines Road (SR-27) and E. Trent Avenue (SR-290)

Sprague Avenue Preservation

Anticipated to begin in spring 2026

• What: Grind and inlay S. Bowdish Road to S. McDonald Road; replace curb ramps
• Location: E. Sprague Avenue from S. Bowdish Road to S. McDonald Road

Sullivan Avenue Preservation

Spring - late summer 2026

• What: Grind and inlay S. Bowdish Road to S. McDonald Road; replace curb ramps
• Location: E. Sullivan Road between 8th and 24th

South Barker Corridor

Spring 2026

• What: Roadway widening and reconstruction, bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides of Barker, stormwater improvements, landscaping
• Location: S. Barker Road from Sprague Avenue and Appleway Avenue

Sullivan Road Preservation - Phase 1

Spring 2026

• What: 3" grind and inlay, curb ramp installation, stormwater improvements
• Location: N. Sullivan Road from Union Pacific Railroad crossing and Kiernan Avenue

Sullivan Road and Park Entrance Improvements

Fall 2026 - spring 2027

• What: Replace existing signal at Sullivan Park and Central Pre-Mix, construct new roadway at signal and a new northern entrance into Sullivan Park, sidewalk improvements on west side of Sullivan, stormwater improvements on Sullivan, parking lot, sewer lift station
• Location: N. Sullivan Road from Spokane River to Union Pacific Railroad crossing

32nd Avenue Preservation

Spring 2026

• What: Roadway reconstruction, 18" PVC watermain installation, ITS system, curb ramp and sidewalk modifications, stormwater improvements
• Location: S. Pines Road to SR-27

Arterial School Crossings

Summer 2026

• What: Constructs new or improves pedestrian crossings with new ramps, bulb outs, refugee islands and RRFB's
• Location: Broadway Avenue, 32nd Avenue, and Pines Road

Balfour Park Sports Courts

Spring/Summer 2026

• What: Basketball and pickleball courts, fencing, park amenities, illumination
• Location: Balfour Park - 105 N. Balfour Road
