Future Spokane Valley Cross Course

Fall 2024 - Fall 2025

• What: New competition cross country racecourse with associated facilities within a new community park
• Location: 2710 N. Flora Road

Pines Road/BNSF Grade Separation Project

September 2025 - winter 2026/27

• What: Grade separate railroad crossing with an underpass, construct roundabout and trailhead
• Location: N. Pines Road (SR-27) and E. Trent Avenue (SR-290)

Sprague Avenue Preservation

Anticipated to begin in spring 2026

• What: Grind and inlay S. Bowdish Road to S. McDonald Road; replace curb ramps
• Location: E. Sprague Avenue from S. Bowdish Road to S. McDonald Road

Sullivan Park Waterline

September to October 2025

• What: Construct a 1,700-foot water line from N. Sullivan Road to just north of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, bore 225 feet under the railroad tracks
• Location: Sullivan Park

Greenacres Park - Phase 2

March - July 2025 (complete)

• What: Tennis, pickleball and basketball courts; community garden, shade structure, backstop, expanded playground and splashpad, updated disc golf; and expanded parking and pathways
• Location: Greenacres Park, 1311 N. Long Road

Sprague Avenue Pedestrian Crossings

Spring 2025 (complete)

• What: New concrete curb ramps, pedestrian islands, sidewalk, traffic control devices
• Location: Sprague Avenue (Howe and Chronicle Roads), Appleway Avenue (Michigan Road), and along the Appleway Trail at Adams and Conklin Roads
• Begins April 14 and expected to be complete in six weeks

Barker Road Improvements

Anticiptated to begin in spring 2026

• What: Road widening, bike lanes, sidewalk, stormwater work and concrete pavement
• Location: S. Barker Road from E. Appleway Avenue and E. Sprague Avenue

Wellesley Avenue Preservation

June - August 2025 (complete)

• What: Pavement removal and replacement, stormwater improvements, turn pockets for access to school, new crosswalks, and ADA ramps
• Location: E. Wellesley Avenue from N. Sullivan Road to N. Isenhart Road

Thorpe Road Bridge Superstructure Replacement

July - August 2025 (complete)

• What: Replace bridge superstructure
