Overview

In July 2023, the City Council approved Resolution 23-009, which established a homeless housing program, including a task force, to serve and provide help to people experiencing homelessness within Spokane Valley. The task force makes recommendations to the Council regarding the regional Five-Year Housing and Homeless Plan, use of the revenue derived from the Homeless Housing and Assistance Act and other policies addressing homelessness.

Resolution 24-014, adopted by Council in December 2024, extended the term of the interim task force to March 31, 2024, or until the permanent task force can be established.
