Crime Prevention Unit
The Spokane Valley Police Department (SVPD) crime prevention officer works with the community to reduce the risk of crime in our city. In his role for the SVPD, Officer Ty Laboy works with businesses, churches and other organizations to conduct crime prevention assessments, including evaluating security, lighting, cameras, vegetation, and areas of ingress and egress. He serves as a liaison between the community and the department, working with SCOPE volunteers and making community presentations regarding personal safety, active shooter and active threat response.
