[ARCHIVED] Region to host International Economic Development Forum

Attendees hear speaker at conference

The City of Spokane Valley and the City of Spokane will be in the economic development spotlight June 16-18 when the region hosts the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Future Forum Conference with the theme of “Transformational Economic Development.” 

For the last several months, the City of Spokane Valley’s economic development team has been involved in the planning, programming, presenters and tours of the region along with other regional partners, including Greater Spokane Incporporated. We are thrilled to be hosting this conference and highlighting the historic and unique economic development elements in the Spokane area. 

In addition to expert presenters, highlights for attendees of the conference will be events related to the 50th Anniversary to Expo ’74, the conference opening on Father’s Day and bus tours of attractions at the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum, wine tasting at Arbor Crest and an advanced manufacturing tour of businesses in the Spokane Valley producing products for the aerospace, global health, maritime, construction, retail and industrial sectors.  

Hundreds of economic development professionals and presenters from the U.S. and internationally will attend the conference, which will have a tremendous tourism and visitor economic impact and will showcase the vitality of our region and the diversity of our economy.
