SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – The community is invited to enjoy several family-friendly festive events in Spokane Valley throughout the holiday season. The City has partnered with the Rotary Club of the Greater Spokane Valley for both tree lighting and breakfast with Santa events, and the Spokane Valley Farmer’s Market for the second annual Spokane Valley Winter Market.

“The holidays are a wonderful time to come together with friends and family, and we’re excited to gather this year in the new Balfour Park for our annual tree lighting,” said Spokane Valley Mayor Pam Haley. “We appreciate the community partners who help make these events possible and create lasting memories for all ages.”

Details of the 2024 holiday events and activities include:

  • Celebration of Lights Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. at Balfour Park located at 105 N. Balfour Road. Enjoy a festive holiday tree lighting event with music, hot chocolate and cookies and a visit from Santa. All are invited to wear light-up festive wear and follow Santa through Balfour Park in the new walking light parade. Parking is available at Balfour Park and across the street at Spokane Valley City Hall. The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greater Spokane Valley and Senske Services.
  • Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7, with mealtimes at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. at CenterPlace Regional Event Center located at 2426 N Discovery Place. The $7.50 per person ticket includes a warm pancake breakfast, crafts, games and a visit with Santa.
  • Spokane Valley Winter Market on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at CenterPlace Regional Event Center located at 2426 N Discovery Place. Admission is free and vendor space is available for a fee. Attendees will find gifts from local small businesses and vendors selling holiday wares. Attendees can enjoy a signature drink at the beer garden by LeCatering, festive music, and kids' crafts and a free photo opportunity with Santa on Saturday. This is a partnership between the City and Spokane Valley Farmer’s Market.
  • Letters from Santa. Spokane Valley’s Parks and Recreation Department has a direct line to the North Pole. Families can register for the Letter from Santa program through Dec. 13 to receive a personalized letter from Santa Claus himself. This unique program is open for participants of all ages and provides a festive gift and memory.
